A LITTLE ABOUT ME

A man with short dark hair, a trimmed beard and mustache, wearing a white short-sleeve button-up shirt, black pants, and a wristwatch, standing against a plain wall with his arms relaxed by his sides.

My name is Filipe Montes, and I'm a wedding photographer based in Porto, Portugal.

I'm drawn to the simple, the natural and the authentic. Those are the things I value most in life, and they naturally shape the way I see and photograph the world.

Outside of photography, I find inspiration in travelling, discovering new places and cultures, spending time in beautiful places and sharing good food with the people closest to me. These moments away from the camera often influence the way I approach every wedding—with curiosity, sensitivity and intention.

I believe the most meaningful photographs come from genuine connection. That's why I work discreetly, allowing each wedding to unfold naturally while creating timeless imagery that feels both honest and elegant.

Aesthetic. Authentic. Timeless.

These three words have quietly guided my work from the very beginning.

I believe wedding photography should preserve more than memories. It should create images that remain meaningful over time, while staying true to the people, the emotions and the atmosphere of each celebration. After all, life is made of moments that stay.

While remaining true to the story as it unfolds, I'm constantly looking for beauty in the way people connect, in the atmosphere of a place and in the thoughtful composition of every image. My goal is to create photographs that are natural and authentic, combining a refined editorial aesthetic with timeless imagery that truly reflects each couple and their story.

The experience

Your wedding day isn't a photoshoot—it's a celebration, and I believe you should be fully present to experience it.

My role is to create an environment where you feel comfortable, relaxed and free to be yourselves. By building a genuine connection and approaching every wedding with a calm, unobtrusive presence, I allow you to simply enjoy your day, knowing every meaningful moment is being preserved with care and intention.

Long after the day is over, I hope you'll remember not only the photographs we created together, but also how effortless the experience felt.

PHOTOGRAPHY SHOULD FEEL NATURAL

Most couples tell me they don't feel comfortable in front of the camera, and that's completely normal. My role is to make the experience feel easy, so you can focus on enjoying your day rather than worrying about being photographed.

Throughout the day, I work discreetly and avoid unnecessary interruptions, allowing moments to unfold naturally. When it's time for your portraits, I'll guide you whenever needed, helping you feel comfortable in front of the camera while photographing you in a way that feels natural, authentic and true to who you are.
